Description

  • REINFORCED CEMENT MORTAR

    ADHESION OF THERMAL INSULATION BOARDS

    AND WALLING, CS IV, Wc2

FL PANOPLY PRO is a cementitious mortar, enriched with polymers and fibres, used for bonding thermal insulation boards to brick walls, cellular concrete, exposed concrete, old plastered surfaces, etc. It is also used for laying/encapsulating the glazing mesh on the outer side of the insulation board prior to the application of the finishing plasters.

    * Ensures high bonding strength between the insulation boards and the substrate, as well as resistance to environmental changes and moisture.

    * Characterized by high compressive strength, flexural strength, as well as easy overlap of the glazing mesh.

    * Intermediate particle size material that ensures very high workability and applicability in large thicknesses.

    * Homogeneous, ready-to-mix, industrial product of consistently high quality.

    * Ensures increased application speed, is economical and provides excellent results.

    Composition & Characteristics:

Blend of high quality white cement, strictly selected particle size and quality of crushed marble, polymers, polypropylene fibers and other special improving additives.

    * The substrate must be clean, stable and free of any residues (scattered particles of plaster or mortar, dust, grease, etc.).

    * The contents of the bag are gradually added to clean water (approx. 5,0 - 5,5 l/bag 25 kg) under continuous stirring using an electric mixer at low speed until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. The mixture is allowed to cure for 5 minutes and then stirred again before application.

Bonding of insulation boards to masonry

    * The adhesive is applied to the surface of the insulation board:

    * by covering its entire surface with a notched trowel (10 mm x 10 mm up to 15 mm x 15 mm) on smooth substrates

    * by covering at least 40% of the surface of the board (around the perimeter and additionally at 3-4 points in the centre) with a mixture thickness of ~2-3 cm in the case of uneven substrates.

    * After a period of 2-3 days (in low temperatures a longer period is required) from the bonding of the thermal insulation boards, they should be fixed with the special anchoring plugs.

    Installation of the glazing

    * A layer of adhesive approximately 3-4 mm thick is then applied to the outer side of the insulation board and, while the adhesive is still wet, the glass fibre mesh is placed on the surface and embedded using a smooth trowel, so that it is eventually completely covered by the adhesive.

    * Before and during the application of the adhesive and for at least eight hours afterwards, the laying surfaces should be protected from exposure to climatic or environmental conditions (wind, rain, high temperatures, etc.).

    * During application of the product the temperature should be between +5 °C and +35 °C.

All the above-mentioned thermal insulation works should be started after the completion of plastering, floor shaping, perimeter waterproofing, etc. In particular, a waiting period of at least 3-5 weeks is required after the completion of these works.

FL PANOPLY PRO mortar contains cement which is classified as an irritant. Consult the safety instructions and precautions listed in the Material Safety Data Sheet of the product.

    Consumption:

    * Bonding of insulation boards: 4-6 kg/m2 depending on the type and quality of the substrate.

    * Reinforcement of glazing: ~1.5 kg/m2 (for each mm thickness / 100% surface area).
