Knauf SZ-SUPERPLAST ORIGINAL

Ready-to-use cement mortar for final sanding reinforced with fibres and cement-based polymers 

Application:

The specialised formulation of SZ-SUPERPLAST ORIGINAL allows its use in a wide range of exterior and interior applications. 

Mixing:

Place water in a clean container, gradually add the material and stir with a low-speed electric tractor until a homogeneous mass is formed. 

After initial mixing, allow the mixture to stand still for 10 minutes and then stir again. If necessary, more water may be added to give the mixture the desired workability during stirring. After mixing, the material should be used while it is still fresh, avoiding inactivity in the container for a long time. 

The addition of water and the re-mixing of the material after a long period of time have a negative effect on the mechanical strength of the material. 

To check whether the material is still fresh, touch it with the palm of your hand and if it is still fresh, it is still suitable for use.

Application:

 The surfaces on which the material is to be applied should be clean of dust, oil, free of fishy bits and dry and free of moisture. Particularly in cases where SZ-SUPERPLAST ORIGINAL is to be used as an overcoat for graphite, grained and sprayed surfaces, it should be ensured that all loose particles have been removed. During the application of the material it is not necessary to wet the substrate. Its special composition allows it to be applied on a dry surface even if it is exposed to high solar radiation and high temperatures. 

The material is applied in two layers, crosswise. After the first layer has been applied and after it has dried completely and acquired its mechanical strength, the second final layer can be applied. The final layer is sanded with a sponge drill until a perfectly smooth surface is obtained. During the final sanding, the use of water is not necessary. If necessary, the sponge should be slightly moistened.

Application temperature:

SZ-SUPERPLAST ORIGINAL should be applied when the temperature is between 5°C and 35°C. 

Consumption:

 ≈10m2/bag at 2mm thickness ≈7m2/bag at 3mm thickness

Specifications:

SZ-SUPERPLAST ORIGINAL should not be mixed with other materials. SUPERUPERPLASTIC ORIGINAL should not be mixed with other materials.
